Overview
This web application provides an interactive presentation of cotton genetic map data generated by the Plant Genome Mapping laboratory (University of Georgia). The data is stored in and retrieved from our Oracle relational database and displayed via Web interfaces developed with advanced web technologies including ASP and .NET with the images being generated on-the-fly.
Viewing the data is a two-step procedure.
- Select a linkage group.
- Display genetic map.
The following provides detailed instructions.
How to choose a linkage group
Currently, map data is collected in our relational database for over 40 linkage groups. To display map data, first select the group of interest from the linkage groups column as shown on this page.
Clicking on any of these groups will lead to the page that presents its genetic map. A link for the web map display viewer user instructions follows.
How to display map data
On the map, click on a location to obtain the probes mapped to that location. They are readily displayed in a box that is located just right of the highlighted (blue) locus.
